Holidays

It's finally here after marking days oh-so slowly off the calendar. Come Friday night I'm heading south out of Geneva and down towards Provence and the south of France and the lavender fields and sunshine.
Not that Geneva and environs aren't amazingly beautiful - just that I want to go elsewhere and discover...

I've become a bit of a zombie lately - just working, working, working and I've not had time for all the things that make life nice - art, photography, exploring, music (looking at beautiful French girls) etc., etc.
So I'm leaving the wrist watch and alarm clock at home, packing my way too many cameras and lenses, putting a bottle of bordeaux and a corkscrew in the picnic hamper and driving off into the sunset.

Five whole days off Mediterranean bliss. Whoo-hoo!

There's Avignon where the Pope once was headquarted, Nimes with one of the last/only bull-fighting rings in France, then Aix-en-Provence which is charming, and finally the regional capital Marseille and the Chateau D'if - a former prison fortress. I've always wanted to see it as it was featured in the novel 'The Count of Monte Cristo' which was/is one of my all time favourite books.

Well, as I used to say in the sandbox, one more day and a wake-up!

I'll catch you on the flip side with all the news. A bientot!
